First OT student on placement at HNP praises quality of service

Laura is a second year Occupational Therapy student from Canterbury Christ Church University. She is currently on placement at the QEQM hospital in Kent with the health care of the oldest person team. We were approached by her educator who is an OT as to whether Laura could spend time with us to understand the OT role within Hilton as obviously a lot of their patients are referred to Hilton on discharge.

First OT student on placement at HNP praises quality of service.

“I am an Occupational Therapy student who was fortunate enough to spend some time with the Occupational Therapists who make up part of the Hilton team. I expected Hilton to complete quick, brief home assessments following hospital discharge, however I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of assessments and overall quality of the service.

“The Occupational Therapists at Hilton place the service user and their families at the centre of practice, considering the home environment and necessary equipment to facilitate people returning home after hospital. Hilton work collaboratively with other professionals to provide an invaluable and unique service which supports not only service users but also their families and carers on hospital discharge. Thank you for allowing me to gain this fantastic experience.” Thanks again, Laura Dunne.
