Hilton Nursing Partners sponsor the Care Innovation Challenge 2022, a competition that sees companies showcasing their innovative ideas and creations to the care sector.

A public vote at last month’s Care Show selected the final three teams from the five finalists and Hilton Nursing formed part of an independent judging panel to pick the overall winner.

This year the winning accolade went to Team CHIP who have developed a cashless solution for adults with learning disabilities to support independent living. Receiving a cash prize of £1,000 the company are now able to move on to their next phase of development.

Mentor and judge, CEO of Hilton Nursing Partners Ann Taylor says: “The standard of innovation always amazes me. This is where big ideas become reality and with the help of the Care Innovation Challenge we hope to see many of these ideas become mainstream in the care sector where they can positively assist people in their everyday lives.”

Professor Vic Rayner OBE, CEO of the National Care Forum and Chair of the judging panel said “All the teams competing have made a stellar effort to accelerate their ideas since the Challenge weekend, taking full advantage of a number of webinars, access to helpful resources and further mentoring from our sponsors including those with lived experience. Every team has aimed to address at least one of the biggest challenges in the sector.  They are the people who are key to create change in social care. In my eyes, all are winners.”

Vic continued “However, we did have to pick one team to receive the prize.  Team CHIP’s idea of a cashless solution for adults with learning disabilities to support independent living demonstrates how important co-production is, as it puts the voice of adults with learning disabilities at the centre of the innovation.”

Lauren Stacey of Team CHIP said “This means everything.  It’s been an amazing journey. Having people say this is good and we want to support it, has been incredible.”

Applications for next year’s Care Innovation Challenge 2023 are now open. Creative thinkers, or anyone who has a passion for making ideas a reality and people who want to make a positive difference to people’s lives are invited to apply at www.careinnovationhub.org.uk
